Abdominal ultrasound

Abdominal ultrasound is a simple, painless and very effective examination. Its purpose is to visualise the organs of the abdomen, namely the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas, spleen and aorta. Using an ultrasound beam, it creates diagnostic images of the various soft tissues.

Why is an abdominal ultrasound prescribed?

It is good to know that this examination does not use X-rays like any other ultrasound. Its purpose is to :

diagnose a disease (search for tumors and infections, exploration of an inflammatory syndrome)

monitor the evolution of a pathology (cancer surveillance)

A medical prescription is required to carry out this examination.

If you have a prescription for an ultrasound that is not mentioned, please contact us

The course of the examination

For the review, we will ask you :

lie down comfortably on the examination table so that the technologist can apply a warm gel to the area to be observed.
